Cape {Town} Etc – Fine dining on the water

The Alba Restaurant takes fine dining in Cape Town to a whole other level of enjoyment. The boat cruises around the harbour at the V&A Waterfront, while you are treated to exquisite food and wine within a restaurant setting. It is definitely a new experience to try out in the Mother City. The Alba offers both lunch and dinner menus, and is open Monday to Sunday.

I Love Foodies Cape Town

For dessert, the Alba served a platter with Dark Chocolate Mousse and Milk Chocolate Truffles, rolled in pistachio and with a touch of chilli. We were both completely stuffed at this point but chocolate truffles and chocolate mousse can never be said no to.

Inside Guide – A unique way to witness the V&A

Zeitz Mocaa? Check. Table Mountain? Check. Robben Island? Check. As unashamedly touristy as these things are, they also happen to be essential facets of the Mother City’s rich and colourful tapestry. And, actually, if you were a tourist in the Mother City, you’d be missing out on a memorable and enriching experience by not enjoying at least some of these bucket-list moments.

The Alba Restaurant is the first of its kind in the Mother City: a fully equipped and professionally serviced fine dining restaurant aboard a boat.

The food was exquisite! A 3 course fully halaal and authentic South African menu to tantalise your taste buds. From Salmon to Springbok, it was a difficult choice to make. For starters, I chose the baked camembert, whilst my companion tried the Springbok Carpaccio.

Inspired Living

We had a truly memorable experience aboard The Alba Restaurant; it was great to do something different and see a different part of the V&A and the harbour. As far value for money, I do not think that R595 per person is over the top, as it covers the cruise, a three-course meal, as well as wine or other drinks. It is something I would recommend for a special occasion as options include brunch, lunch, high tea or dinner cruise, there is something for everyone.
